Auckland Wedding ~ PAX Dining

Sometimes you shoot a wedding and you know it'll be one you remember forever. Olivia and Francis' day at PAX in Remuera will live rent free in my mind for a long time. Their wedding was filled with love, connection and whole lot of laughing. I can't help but smile to myself when looking back at these photos, remembering exactly how it felt to be in the midst of all the shenanigans.

Olivia and Francis are the kind of people you get on with immediately. They're warm and inviting, and also hilarious. Being part of their crew for the day was so much fun! Spending time with their family and friends on their wedding day was very important to them, and they wanted their photos to reflect that. During our pre-wedding planning sessions, we talked a lot about prioritising the candid interactions they had with their guests and capturing the energy of the day.

I spent the morning with Olivia and her bridal team while they had their hair and makeup done by the wonderfully talented Made Up By Ruth. While it's not in everyone's budget to have me around for the morning, I love spending time with you before the festivities begin. It gives me a chance to tune into the vibes, and it gives you a chance to get used to having me hovering about all day. Once the gals were ready and Olivia was in her Hera Couture dress, we headed to PAX Dining in Remuera, a beautiful venue for smaller parties. PAX had plenty of aesthetic nooks for photos on site, and the food was delish.

As guests arrived and we made our way through the formalities, I tried my best to hone in on moments of laughter and connection. From the other side of the lens, there's nothing as good as the feeling of nailing a gloriously candid moment with a perfectly timed shutter click. And I'll let you in on one of the key ingredients for getting this right - time. We had so much time to hang out together after the ceremony; we didn't have to rush from one thing to the next and everything was easy, breezy, beautiful. If you want authentic, fun-filled photos make sure you structure your timeline to make this possible (don't worry, I can help you with this).

So we laughed, we cried, we danced and A LOT of souju was consumed along the way. It was an 11/10 day and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
