Raglan Wedding ~ Wainui Bush Park / Raglan Golf Club

Laura and Sam spend a lot of time together in Raglan, making it the easy first choice for their wedding day. They started celebrations with their closest people at the Wainui Bush Park before moving on to their ceremony and dinner at the Raglan Golf Club. These two put a lot of meticulous planning and thought into how they wanted their day to look. It's safe to say the hard work really paid off!

I met Sam and his groomsmen at the Wainui Bush Park before the formalities of the day began. Sam was cool as a cucumber as he waited for his bride to arrive. A first look was important to these two as they wanted to spend the afternoon uninterrupted celebrating with their guests. Watching Sam turn to see Laura, an absolute goddess in her custom, two-piece Astra Bridal was such a privilege to be witness to. We spent the morning there with their wedding party, mixing up the traditional 'line-up' photos with some fun, creative ones. The Bush Park provided us with great shelter from the elements and I will never not suggest this as a photo location for people keen to try something other than the beach.

We continued the celebrations at the Raglan Golf Club, where family and friends had gathered on the green for the ceremony. It was a stunning spot with beautiful views over the Raglan Harbour. One of my favourite elements of the day were the ribbon wands Laura had arranged instead of confetti. Time whirled by, with many laughs, tears and cheers. As the sun started to drop we headed inside for speeches and a huge spread put on by Colin's Kitchen. We snuck out for some last light with Mt Karioi, the sleeping lady, as this is an important landmark for Laura and Sam before hitting the dance floor and letting our hair down for the night.

Laura and Sam's day was a collaboration of many great minds (including theirs!). The single stems provided by Flour and Bloom were a modern way to have beautiful, but cost effective florals, their close friend and celebrant, Celebrant Courtney recounted their journey perfectly, and the team that helped Laura and her girls get ready (Gabrielle Houghton MUA and Styled by Jessie) couldn't have done a better job. There were so many other incredible vendors involved, you'll have to ask Laura for the full list!

It was such an honour to photograph this wedding in Raglan, the place I am lucky to call home. I am excited to see what the future holds for this kind and thoughtful couple. Next time you're in Rags, make sure you come over for a drink!
