Alexis and Trent flew over from Australia to have their wedding in Raglan, surrounded by their closest friends and family. They chose to have their ceremony at Whale Bay Bach, with the world famous surf break as the backdrop to their vows. They carried on the afternoon at Rock It Kitchen, and ended the evening sat down together for dinner.
Raglan put on a real show for their wedding day; the sun was shining and the swell was good. Whale Bay Bach was the perfect location for their ceremony. It's a small space, but Ciara from The White Wedding Club managed to design it perfectly. The fringed umbrellas added a beachy vibe to their classic and elegant styling. Alexis looked absolutely incredible in her dress by Rachel Gilbert and Trent swapped out his wetsuit for a relaxed, linen look.
After the formalities, Alexis and Trent's guests headed to Rock It Kitchen while we stayed behind to take some family photos with their daughter Millie. Once we rejoined the crew, it was time for Aperols, lawn games and group photos. The group photos were a really important part of the day for Alexis, so we took our time and made sure everyone was included in at least one. Eventually everyone settled down for dinner and when the sun started to set I was able to sneak out with Alexis and Trent to a secret spot at Ngarunui Beach. These sunset photos are some of my favourites from the day, and it concluded my time with them perfectly.
It was such a privilege to be involved in this special day, and it's always an honour to photograph weddings in the little town I call home.
