The iconic Kiwi bach is the backdrop to this modern and alternative tablescape. Raglan is full of old-style holiday homes, and quirky locations for an intimate dinner setting. Playing with height, colour and texture, we transformed this unassuming nook (Sofia's dining room!) into a trendy and unique spot for a sit down meal.
This shoot happened purely by accident. In fact, Sofia, the talent behind So Floral, and I had just come back from finishing a wet, wild and windy shoot on Raglan's Ngarunui Beach when we decided her dining room was the perfect spot for another styled set up. This time, we wouldn't have to battle the elements and we could take our time to get creative.
Sofia chose to work with beautiful fresh orchids, which completely stole the show. She added apples and oranges for pops of colour and to accentuate the palette of the florals. The natural tones and bountiful draped linen by Olive Linen created a luxurious aesthetic and elevated the whole scene. We were lucky to be able to raid The White Wedding Club for hire stock to styled the table using bud vases, classic wine glasses and rose gold cutlery. The bold ceramics by Sarah Bing added an eccentric touch and would be perfect for anyone looking to add a unique element to their wedding styling.
I had fun capturing all angles of this tablescape and even got to play with my flash! I absolutely love the resulting shadow the orchid casts on the wall. Shoots like these are best for experimenting, learning and improving. And what a privilege to work with so many incredible women led businesses. More please!
